Sana'a: A meeting was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Sana'a, chaired by the Federation's Vice President and Vice President of the Sana'a Chamber, Mohammed Salah. The meeting included the majority of the Federation's Trade Committee members from the capital and other governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, a new leadership for the committee was elected, in the presence of Federation Board Member and Vice President of the Sana'a Chamber, Hashem Al-Sawari. The Federation's Vice Rector affirmed that the meeting represents a consolidation of the democratic approach, reflecting the awareness and responsibility of the Yemeni private sector. He considered the election of the Trade Committee leadership a pivotal step towards strengthening the sustainability of commercial activity and protecting common interests.
He called on the members to embody the values of brotherhood and camaraderie, emphasizing that winning the committee's leadership is a responsibility, not an honor. True success lies in the ability to unite and serve everyone, and in choosing a leader with a clear vision to overcome the obstacles facing merchants and to represent them effectively in all forums. He stated, "The strength of the Federation lies in the unity of efforts and in choosing the most suitable candidate who prioritizes the sector's interests above all else."
For his part, the Federation's Director General, Mohammed Qafleh, explained that the elections were being held for the first time with this level of coordination with all chambers of commerce in the governorates via Zoom, and with a notable presence of representatives from commercial companies. He emphasized the strategic importance of the committee concerned with the commercial sector at the national level, which represents one of the pillars of the national economy.
After reviewing the candidates' names and conducting a public vote for each candidate individually, the results led to the election of Dr. Talal Abdulrahim Radman as Chairman of the Committee and Abdulkarim al-Majhali as Vice Chairman.
