Sana'a: The Nihm Customs Center in Sana'a Governorate has successfully destroyed seven tons of prohibited and expired goods and medicines. Fahd Al-Qahtani, Director of the center, announced that the destroyed items included smuggled medicines, electronic hookahs, and other products that failed to meet required standards and specifications.
According to Yemen News Agency, the destruction process was overseen by a committee led by the Public Funds Prosecutor's representative, Judge Hizam Zaidan. The committee also included delegates from various sectors such as security, intelligence, standards and specifications, agriculture, and the Supreme Drug Authority.
Fahd Al-Qahtani stressed the center's commitment to preventing the entry of expired, prohibited, or unauthorized goods into the country, aiming to protect both national interests and the health and safety of citizens. He highlighted the role of customs as the first line of defense in monitoring and eliminating expired and non-compliant products.
