Sana'a: Authorities in Bani Matar district launched on Sunday the distribution of a new batch of support materials intended to help complete community-led development projects across the western districts of Sana'a governorate. The initiative marks the distribution of the ninth batch of assistance materials allocated to community projects being implemented through cooperation between the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, agricultural cooperative associations, and local authorities in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the latest allocation includes 2,400 bags of cement and 33,000 liters of diesel fuel to support the completion of development projects in several districts. During the launch ceremony, Governorate Adviser Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Murtada praised the role of cooperative associations in implementing service and development projects, describing them as important partners of local authorities in addressing community needs. He said the support reflects efforts to encourage self-help initiatives and stressed the importance of using the materials in accordance with approved technical plans to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the projects.
For his part, Director of Community Initiatives in the governorate Engineer Mohammed Al-Nazari stated that the new allocation would help accelerate the completion of projects facing delays, particularly in the road and water sectors. He noted that close coordination with cooperative associations contributes to the success of community-driven development efforts.
Representative of the Interventions Unit in the governorate, Engineer Osama Al-Shami, commended the efforts of local communities and cooperative associations in mobilizing resources and participation for development projects. He affirmed that field monitoring would continue to ensure that support materials are used appropriately and directly in project implementation. Al-Shami added that the distribution process was coordinated with the Agricultural Cooperative Union and associations in Bani Matar, Al-Haymah Al-Dakhiliyah, Aaniz, and Manakhah districts, with the aim of supporting priority service projects and strengthening local resilience.
Meanwhile, Bani Matar District Director Yahya Al-Qanous and Al-Haymah Al-Kharijiyah District Director Khaled Al-Arshi expressed appreciation for the support provided by the governorate leadership and the Ministry of Local Administration, noting its importance in addressing the needs of rural communities. Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Union in the governorate Ali Azzi emphasized the importance of maximizing available resources and ensuring that projects are implemented according to required standards to promote local development and improve services for residents.
The support program forms part of broader efforts to encourage community participation in development projects and improve infrastructure and public services in rural areas of Sana'a Governorate.
