Local hotel occupancy rates of all categories during the current weekend reached 72% in the capital, Amman, 54% in the Dead Sea, 64% in Aqaba and 28% in southern archeological site of Petra. In a statement to "Petra" on Thursday, vice president and spokesperson for Jordan Hotels Association (JHA), Hussein Hilalat, said occupancy rates in Jordan's 5-star hotels stood at 68% in the capital, 58% in the Dead Sea, while it reached 77% in Aqaba and 35% in Petra. Meanwhile, he noted occupancy rates for 4-star hotels reached 71% in Amman, about 50% in Dead Sea, while it stood at 71% in Aqaba and 28% in Petra.
