Sana'a: Officials from small enterprise development and agricultural funding units inspected on Wednesday summer centers in the capital Sana'a to follow up on educational and vocational training activities for students.
According to Yemen News Agency, Head of the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprise Development Ahmed al-Kebsi and Director of the Executive Unit for Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Funding in the capital Sana'a, Eng. Abdullah Sharaf, visited several summer centers to review ongoing programs. They inspected awareness courses in food industries, implemented within summer activities in coordination with development partners and funded by the agricultural and fisheries projects unit.
Officials were briefed on student participation and the educational, cultural, and practical activities offered, particularly those aimed at developing skills in food production and home-based manufacturing. Al-Kebsi described the inclusion of food industry training as a key step in linking education with production, noting its role in promoting economic empowerment and improving household income.
He stated that programs cover about 100 summer centers and aim to train around 2,500 female students in food production, especially dairy processing such as yogurt, cheese, and milk products. The initiative also includes training 55 trainers, developing training materials, and supporting practical home production skills, with a focus on enhancing food preservation and local production techniques.
Visitors praised the organization of the programs and the active participation of students and staff, highlighting the positive impact on skill development and community awareness.
