Organizing Committee Designates Women’s Squares for Ashura Commemoration

Sana'a: The Organizing Committee for Events in the governorates has designated specific squares for women to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon them both) during Ashura, 1448 AH. The initiative aims to facilitate a large and dignified gathering for women across the regions to pay tribute to Imam Hussein and express solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

According to Yemen News Agency, the commemoration is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, and will encompass various districts across multiple governorates. In Sana'a Governorate alone, 29 squares have been allocated, including significant locations such as the Bani Hashish District with eight squares and the Al-Rawna District's Martyr Leader School Square. Additional sites include two courtyards each in Bani Matar and Al-Haymah Al-Kharijiyah Districts.

In Al-Mahwit Governorate, two squares have been designated: Al-Zahra Complex Square in Shibam Kawkaban District and Al-Khansa School Square in Al-Madina District. Ma'rib Governorate will host events in the Bani Sakran and Bani Omar Districts.

Dhamar Governorate sees 15 locations, including the Qimmat Al-Imtiaz School Square in Haran and the Sports Stadium Square in the North and South City Districts. Ibb Governorate has allocated eight squares, including Arwa School Square in Jiblah District and the Cultural Center Square in Al-Dhahhar District.

Al-Bayda Governorate has designated two squares: Balqis School Square in Rada'a District and Umm Nusaybah School Square in Al-Sawadiyah District. In Taiz Governorate, the Al-Ta'iziyah District will host the event at the Al-Ilm Al-Hadith School Square.

Raymah Governorate's Al-Jabin District will use the Al-Zahra School Square. Al-Hudaydah Governorate is set to host commemorations across seven squares, including the Quran Memorization Square in Al-Zaydiyah District and the Sayyida Zaynab School Square in Al-Maghlaf District.

Amran Governorate will see events in six squares, including the University Square and Sayyida Zainab School Square in Al-Jabal District. Al-Jawf Governorate has prepared five locations, such as the Abdullah Abu Ras School Square in Bart Al-Marashi District.

Hajjah Governorate is set to accommodate gatherings in 24 squares, including Al-Zahraa School Square in Al-Madinah District and the Al-Nasr School Square in Janib Al-Yaman District. Saada Governorate will have 10 squares, featuring the Al-Eid Cemetery Square in Razih District and Al-Zahraa School Square in Al-Nadhir District.

The committee encourages widespread participation in this significant event to honor the memory of Imam Hussein and to stand in unity with oppressed communities.
