Sana'a: The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) revealed that the trade deficit, which represents the difference between exports and imports, increased by 15% in May 2026 compared to May 2025, reaching $526.4 million. According to Yemen News Agency, the PCBS explained that exports rose by 25% in May 2026 compared to May 2025, reaching a value of $193.3 million. It was noted that exports to the occupied territories of 1948 increased by 33% in May 2026 compared to May 2025, representing 96% of the total value of exports for that month. Meanwhile, exports to the rest of the world decreased by 45% compared to May 2025. Imports also showed an upward trend in May 2026, increasing by 18% compared to May 2025, with a total value of $719.7 million. Imports from the occupied territories of 1948 increased by 42% in May 2026 compared to May 2025, constituting 65% of the total value of imports for that month. In contrast, imports from the rest of the world decreased by 10% compared to May 2025.
