Sana’a: The House of Representatives, in its session chaired by Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, praised the initiative of the local authority in Taiz province to open Al-Hoban road, Qasr Al-Shaab – Al-Kamb for 24 hours on the occasion of Ramadan.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council affirmed that this initiative, following directives from the Revolution Leader Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and H.E. Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, aims to alleviate the suffering of citizens. It called on the other party to facilitate movement by opening the road on its side.
The Parliament condemned the actions of UAE occupation forces in suppressing demonstrators in Socotra Province. The demonstrators were protesting the foreign presence and deteriorating conditions in the occupied provinces. The Council emphasized the importance of unity against these violations and called for resistance against occupiers and invaders. It urged a focus on finding peaceful solutions to political and economic issues without foreign interference.
During the session, the Council welcomed statements by European Union Ambassador Gabriel Vi±ales, who linked stability in Yemen to broader regional stability. The Council reiterated the European Union’s support for UN-led peace negotiations in Yemen. Additionally, the Parliament praised the Russian representative in the Security Council for holding former President Trump responsible for obstructing peace efforts. The statements from some US officials were also commended, particularly those criticizing the designation of the Houthi Ansarullah movement as a terrorist organization.
In a related context, the Council reviewed a report from the Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Committee regarding government action on recommendations for pomegranate farmers and exporters in Sa’ada Province. The discussion on this report was postponed to a future session when the relevant government side is present.
