Sana'a: The Speaker of Parliament, Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, to discuss the Ministry's diplomatic efforts in external communication with the United Nations and other international organizations amid Yemen's ongoing national and international challenges.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Speaker emphasized the necessity of enhancing Yemen's diplomatic presence to accurately convey the country's situation and grievances to international forums. He highlighted the importance of maintaining and strengthening relations with the United Nations and other international bodies in line with Yemeni constitutional principles and laws. The Speaker commended the Ministry's work in engaging with these organizations, particularly the UN and the UN Security Council, and urged them to match Yemen's efforts against foreign aggression.
The Speaker underscored the need for effective external communication to inform the world about Yemen's plight and the justice of its cause. He mentioned the continuous exposure of crimes committed by US-Zionist aggression, including the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, labeling these actions as war crimes requiring international attention and accountability. The Speaker called for intensified communication with human rights organizations to hold those responsible for these crimes accountable.
The meeting also reaffirmed Yemen's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, advocating for an end to aggression and the siege on the Palestinian people, and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Minister Jamal Amer expressed gratitude for the Speaker's support for the Ministry's diplomatic initiatives. He acknowledged the significant role of the Parliament in enhancing Yemen's political and diplomatic influence on the international stage, noting the positive impact of their communications with parliaments and parliamentary unions globally.
