Sana'a: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, convened a meeting with key figures from Yemen's commerce sector, including the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Yemen Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Salah, the Chairman of the Capital Secretariat Commerce Chamber, Ali Al-Hadi, and the Chairman of the Hajjah Governorate Commerce Chamber, Yahya Suhail. This assembly also included several members of the federation and representatives from various commerce chambers across the country.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting saw participation from the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdulrahman Al-Juma'i, alongside heads and secretaries of the parliament's permanent committees, members of the House, and the Assistant Secretary-General of the House. Discussions focused on the efforts being made to enhance the economic and developmental sectors in Yemen.
The meeting highlighted the significant role of the Federation of Yemen Chambers of Commerce and Industry, along with financiers, businessmen, and traders, in fostering economic development amidst the challenging conditions resulting from aggression and blockade. There was an emphasis on the need for collaboration and coordination to develop viable solutions to the challenges hindering the performance of Yemen's industrial and commercial sectors.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Yemen Chambers of Commerce provided insights into the difficulties and issues confronting the federation and the private sector, underscoring the necessity for solution-driven approaches.
The Speaker and members of the House reiterated their dedication to tackling any obstacles faced by the private sector, financiers, and businessmen in collaboration with relevant authorities, ensuring alignment with the public interest.
In response, the Speaker of the House directed the establishment of a committee to review the decisions made by the Ministries of Finance, Economy, Industry, and Investment. The Speaker also stressed the importance of supporting and developing local products to bolster the national economy.
