Parliament Speaker Honors Participants in Parliamentary Oversight Training Courses

Sanaa: Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'i has emphasized the significance of bolstering national unity to counteract conspiracies and attacks against Yemen, attributing these challenges to the country's supportive stance on the Palestinian cause. At the conclusion of the training courses on parliamentary oversight and legislative importance in parliamentary life, al-Ra'i highlighted the need for increased efforts to achieve success and confront challenges through continuous modernization and development.

According to Yemen News Agency, al-Ra'i underscored the value of organizing specialized courses that aid in enhancing performance levels, aligning them with legislative and oversight work. He commended the General Secretariat for organizing these courses aimed at improving the performance of the Council's cadres, employees, and the secretariat of the Council's standing committees, along with the contributions of the course trainers.

The training courses, organized by the General Secretariat of the Council, introduced 60 male and female trainees from various parliamentary departments to concepts of legislation and parliamentary oversight. The programs covered parliamentary duties, powers, foundations, and rules related to legislative and oversight work, as well as the organization of political, economic, and social life.

Participants gained insights into parliamentary oversight and draft laws during practical phases within Parliament, focusing on drafting phases and cooperation between constitutional authorities. The courses emphasized the optimal methods of legal drafting necessary for those involved in law drafting.

Assistant Secretary-General of the Council, Abdulrahman al-Mansour, expressed gratitude to the Speaker for supporting these training courses, highlighting their real-world importance and their role in enhancing performance in legislative and oversight fields.

Trainer Naaman al-Masoudi highlighted the significance of the courses and model projects presented by participants. Mohammed al-Wadaei, representing course participants, praised the Council Chairman and the General Secretariat for their dedication to holding these training sessions.

In conclusion, the Council Chairman honored the participants with certificates of appreciation, wishing them success in applying the specialized course outcomes to their practical work.
