Sana'a: The Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the Parliament on Wednesday reviewed the performance of the General Corporation for Social Insurance during a joint meeting in the capital, focusing on improving services and expanding insurance coverage.
According to Yemen News Agency, the committee discussed the implementation of social insurance laws for private-sector workers and reviewed the corporation's progress in automating administrative and financial procedures. Members praised efforts to modernize systems, improve transparency, and enhance services for insured workers and employers.
The meeting also stressed the importance of continuing monthly pension payments for 14,000 retirees, expanding insurance coverage to additional sectors, and upgrading archiving systems to international standards. Officials urged the corporation to broaden its activities in underserved governorates and include more workers in private education and healthcare institutions under the social insurance system.
