Postal Authority Honors Yemen Wallet Project Development Team

Sana'a: The General Authority for Post and Postal Savings honored the Yemen Wallet project development team on Tuesday. At the ceremony, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Mohammed Al-Mahdi, praised the team's efforts in developing its services and improving postal services provided to the community.

According to Yemen News Agency, Minister Al-Mahdi emphasized that honoring the team represents recognition for all postal staff who contributed to developing the wallet's services, facilitating community access to daily transactions and services. He highlighted that the project is a significant achievement for the General Authority for Post despite the challenges posed by aggression and blockade over the past 11 years. The Yemen Wallet project is part of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing postal services.

Minister Al-Mahdi explained that improving postal services aligns with a series of projects adopted by the Ministry as part of its digital transformation framework, intended to benefit the community. The ceremony, attended by Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Ali Al-Makni, and the Director General of the General Postal Authority, Ammar Wahhan, coincided with International Workers' Day.

Wahhan commended the Ministry of Communications leadership for supporting the General Postal Authority in developing and integrating postal and financial services. He noted the necessity of keeping pace with advancements in artificial intelligence, which prompted the formation of a team to fully develop the Yemen Wallet project. The wallet operates efficiently, enabling customers to send and receive remittances through 20 networks, 14 wallets, and seven banks, while also focusing on improving the application's functionality and design.
