Poultry Sector Regulation System in Bajil District Launched

General

Bajil: A new integrated system to regulate and develop the poultry sector was launched today in Bajil District, aiming to boost local production, ensure product quality, and organize supply chains from farmers to consumers. The initiative is expected to significantly transform the local poultry industry by enhancing market efficiency and product standards.

According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative, led by the Bajil Cooperative Agricultural Association, connects small poultry farmers with automated slaughterhouses and distribution centers. This connection is designed to enhance production sustainability, marketing efficiency, and food safety. The system will replace unregulated manual slaughtering with monitored automated facilities, which is expected to provide fair pricing for farmers and stable market prices for consumers.

District Director Abdulmunim al-Rifa'i described the project as a strategic step toward organizing the poultry market and protecting consumers. Engineer Hilal Al-Jashari noted that the system would improve product quality and competitiveness in the local market, benefitting all stakeholders involved.

Executive Director of the Association Hussein al-Dhiabi added that the system offers small farmers stable marketing channels and ensures consumers have access to high-quality, chilled, and reasonably priced poultry. The new system is anticipated to foster a more organized and efficient poultry market in Bajil District.
