President of the United States, Joe Biden, authorized an increase in funding for emergency work undertaken in the State of Hawaii as a result of wildfires beginning more than a week ago.
The White House stated, "Federal funds for debris removal and emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance has been increased to 100 percent of the total eligible costs for a continuous 30-day period of the State's choosing within the first 120 days from the start of the incident period," On a related note, authorities had declared that the tally of wildfire victims had risen to more than 110 persons, children included.
The White House had also announced that the President and the First Lady will be visiting the state next week to examine the most devastating damages the country had seen in a century, and oversee relief efforts.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mentioned in a recently released statement that it had dispatched 190 search and rescue team members and more than 380 of its employees to support the Hawaiian residents.
