Sanaa: The Presidium of the Parliament, in its meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Speaker Yahya Ali al-Ra'i, addressed current events and important national issues. The meeting included the heads and rapporteurs of the Parliament's standing committees, reiterating its support for the call by the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din, to draw up a roadmap for restoring sovereignty and breaking the siege.
According to Yemen News Agency, the call coincided with the anniversary of the Prophet's migration and the beginning of the new Hijri year 1448 AH. It emphasizes the responsibility towards Yemen's needs and the consequences of the aggression and siege it has endured for over a decade, including economic warfare impacting the Yemeni people.
The participants affirmed Yemen's right to reclaim its rights and expel occupiers from Yemeni lands, waters, and islands. They emphasized ending the exploitation of resources to pay state employees' salaries and improve services in all Yemeni regions. This would be achieved by implementing a strategy to defeat occupiers and end the blockade.
The meeting commended the victories by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Lebanese Resistance, and the Resistance Axis in confronting America and Israel. It was seen as a historic victory for the cohesion of the "Axis of Jihad and Resistance" forces and the "unity of fronts" equation.
The necessity of maintaining unity and fortifying the home front to confront conspiracies was stressed. Mobilization activities, rallies, and marches were encouraged to solidify a culture of preparedness defending the homeland and its resources.
Yemen's strength and pivotal role in supporting national causes were reiterated, highlighting its internal stability and resilience. This enables the Yemeni people to enjoy freedom, independence, and benefit from their resources.
Speaker Yahya Ali al-Ra'i outlined measures required to unify efforts among constitutional authorities, emphasizing Parliament's role in confronting challenges. The meeting discussed various topics and approved reports by standing committees, directing the government to implement recommendations.
The meeting urged standing committees to expedite tasks, stressing the importance of fulfilling legislative and oversight responsibilities. There was hope that all would recognize their responsibility towards national issues and daily suffering, aiming to overcome effects of aggression, and counter conspiracies by the American-Zionist-Western alliance.
Attendees included Secretary-General of the Parliament, Abdullah al-Qasimi, and Assistant Secretary-General, Abdulrahman al-Mansour.
