Hays: The Prison Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior's Preventive and Curative Medicine Department, conducted a field visit to the security departments in the Hays and Khokha districts of Hodeidah Province, as well as the Mokha District of Taiz Province, to evaluate the conditions and needs of detainees.
According to Yemen News Agency, the visit included the distribution of medicines, medical supplies, hygiene items, 1,000 mosquito nets, and awareness materials as part of efforts to improve detainees' living conditions. Additionally, several detainees were released following legal procedures.
Prison Committee member Kamil Gathaya emphasized the significance of humane treatment for detainees and the community, highlighting the need for ongoing support. Dr. Akram Al-Madani, Director General of the Ministry of Interior's Preventive and Curative Medicine Department, stated that the initiative aligns with directives from the ministry's leadership, human resources, and financial sectors. The initiative aims to address the needs of detention centers and provide comprehensive care.
