Sana'a: The National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs honored on Tuesday freed detainee Fatah Saleh Al-Hamali with the Shield of Courage in recognition of his bravery and heroic stance while being held by Saudi-backed forces.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the ceremony, committee chairman Abdulqader Al-Murtada stated that the honor acknowledges Al-Hamali's unwavering courage and commitment to his principles despite the challenging conditions of detention. Al-Murtada emphasized that Al-Hamali's conduct serves as an exemplary model of resilience and steadfastness, reflecting the courage and dignity of Yemeni armed forces personnel and the Yemeni people.
Al-Murtada extended his congratulations to Al-Hamali and his fellow freed detainees, noting that their liberation signifies another victory achieved through the sacrifices of the armed forces. He expressed hope for the swift release of the remaining detainees and their safe return to their families. In his remarks, Al-Murtada praised the strategic victory of the Yemeni people in clearing western coastal districts of Saudi-backed military buildup, describing it as a turning point in the ongoing confrontation and a testament to the solidarity between the people and the armed forces.
The committee chairman further highlighted that the defeat of the military buildup demonstrated the futility of relying on military options and mobilization, reaffirming the unbreakable will to resist and uphold national rights and sovereignty. Al-Murtada welcomed the presidential amnesty as a wise step towards national reconciliation and urged those aligned with the aggression to return to the homeland.
He lauded the sacrifices of both detainees and freed detainees, affirming the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs' commitment to securing the release of all detainees in recognition of their sacrifices and heroic positions.
In response, freed detainee Fatah Al-Hamali expressed gratitude to the National Committee for the honor and affirmed his continued commitment to the path of jihad until achieving full freedom for the homeland.
