Prisons Issues Committee Releases 21 Prisoners for Rajab Friday Holiday

Sanaa: The Prisons Issues and Prisoners Committee has announced the release of 21 prisoners from the Military Prison, acting on the directives of Revolution Leader Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and the President of the Supreme Political Council. This decision coincides with the Rajab Friday holiday, 1447 AH.

According to Yemen News Agency, Sheikh Ali Qarsha, the head of the committee, stated that this release marks the first batch, with plans underway to release an additional 71 prisoners from the same facility. The initiative reflects the committee's ongoing efforts to address prisoner issues in accordance with the guidance of the Revolution Leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council, aligning with the values of justice and mercy inherent in Islam.

Sheikh Qarsha further mentioned that the decision to release these prisoners followed a thorough review of their files. Committee members, including judges, met with the prisoners, listened to their grievances, and ensured their eligibility for release, all within the framework of applicable laws and regulations.

He emphasized the significance of releasing prisoners on the first Friday of Rajab, a day that holds historical importance as it commemorates the Yemeni people's conversion to Islam under Imam Ali bin Abi Talib. This act is seen as a continuation of the values of tolerance and forgiveness promoted by Islam and reflects the Yemeni people's deep-rooted faith-based values.
