Taiz: Large protest rallies were held across the Taiz governorate on Friday following the weekly prayers, condemning ongoing Israeli actions against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Participants of the rallies voiced strong opposition to the Israeli announcement recognizing Somaliland as a separate entity, describing the move as a threat to regional stability and part of broader plans to expand influence in the Horn of Africa.
According to Yemen News Agency, the rallies also condemned continued Israeli military operations in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as attacks on Syria and Lebanon. A statement issued at the protests expressed condolences over recent Palestinian casualties and reaffirmed solidarity with the Palestinian and Somali peoples.
The statement also called on Arab and Islamic countries, particularly those bordering the Red Sea, to take practical measures to prevent further regional destabilization. It concluded by reaffirming continued public mobilization in support of regional causes and solidarity with the people of Gaza.
