Sana'a: The Public Works Office in the capital Sana'a organized a speech event on Sunday to celebrate the anniversary of Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by several deputy governors of the capital. During the gathering, Capital Undersecretary for Public Works and Projects, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Houthi, emphasized the importance of commemorating this occasion. He highlighted that such celebrations strengthen the attachment to and emulation of the Prophet Muhammad's values and noble biography, including his struggle against aggression and global arrogance.
Al-Houthi underscored the historic relationship between Yemenis and Prophet Muhammad, acknowledging the role of the Yemeni people in supporting him, carrying the banner of Islam and jihad, and confronting the enemies of Islam from the dawn of the Islamic mission to the present day. He stressed the importance of commemorating the occasion in a manner that reflects its significance in the hearts of Yemenis, drawing lessons from the Prophet's life to support the nation's causes, particularly the Palestinian cause.
He also called for widespread participation in the events and activities marking the Prophet's birthday and urged citizens to attend the central event on 12 Rabi' Al-Awwal at Al-Sabeen Square. This participation is seen as a demonstration of love, loyalty, and reverence for Prophet Muhammad.
Cultural activist Abdulkarim Jabhan also spoke at the event, describing the Prophet's birthday as a significant spiritual occasion. He noted that it serves as a source of inspiration for adhering to the values, principles, and morals of Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing the importance of embodying these in all aspects of life.
