Al-Hodeida: Transportation and Public Works Minister Mohammed Qahim and Hodeida Governor Abdullah Atifi conducted an inspection of ongoing infrastructure improvement efforts in the city's main square, focusing on preparations for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
According to Yemen News Agency, the officials received updates from Abdulnasser Al-Sharif, Executive Director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, and Engineer Mohammed Muthana, head of the Works Sector. They discussed progress on cleanliness initiatives, street landscaping, and preparing beaches for visitors, alongside maintenance and rehabilitation activities in key service facilities.
Minister Qahim emphasized the need to boost the city's readiness for the influx of visitors during Eid al-Fitr. He acknowledged the work done in cleaning, lighting, and road and sidewalk rehabilitation.
Governor Atifi noted that these efforts are part of a comprehensive plan to enhance the city's appearance. He reiterated the importance of ongoing cleaning and waste removal campaigns, as well as maintaining street lighting and improving main thoroughfares to create a welcoming environment for the holiday.
The works sector official highlighted the swift progress of technical and engineering teams in completing maintenance and rehabilitation projects. The focus remains on roads and sidewalks to ensure smooth traffic flow for residents and visitors during Eid.
Executive Director Al-Sharif added that field teams are executing a plan to deploy cleanliness teams, rehabilitate public spaces, and sustain improvement efforts to maintain a clean environment for both city residents and visitors.
