Ramadan Event in Bayt al-Faqih Commemorates Historic Battle and Imam Ali’s Martyrdom

Bayt al-faqih: The local authority and mobilization department in Bayt al-Faqih district of Hodeida governorate organized a Ramadan evening event in al-Husseiniyah city to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Badr and the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, with the participation of several local and security officials.

According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by the district director Hussein Sahl, the governorate's director of tribal affairs Ibrahim Sharaei, and the director of security of the southern region Colonel Adel Abdullah. Speakers at the event addressed the significance of the Battle of Badr, a historic victory for the call of Prophet Muhammad, which marked a milestone in the spread of Islam.

The speeches highlighted lessons from the Day of al-Furqan, which marked a decisive moment in the triumph over the forces of polytheism and disbelief, ushering in a new era of successive victories for Muslims. The speakers also reviewed aspects of the life and character of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, emphasizing the need for the Muslim nation to draw inspiration from his struggles and confrontations with tyrannical forces amid the challenges it faces.

They praised Imam Ali's virtues, patience, struggle, and sacrifices in confronting injustice, noting that commemorating his martyrdom is an opportunity to draw lessons from his life and values. The speeches affirmed that the injustice suffered by the family of the Prophet will remain engraved in the memory of generations, and noted that Yemenis have followed the path of sacrifice for the sake of God and in support of the Muslim nation.

The speakers called for reflection on the educational lessons from the life of Imam Ali during the holy month of Ramadan and stressed the importance of strengthening societal awareness of the dangers of foreign occupation. They emphasized opposing projects aimed at fragmenting the nation and colonizing peoples by global powers, affirming that the approach of Imam Ali and the Prophet's household represents a path for overcoming the current state of weakness.
