Dhamar: The branch of the General Authority for the Care and Rehabilitation of Martyrs' Families and the Martyrs Foundation in Dhamar province launched the Ramadan food basket distribution project for the families of martyrs and the missing. During the launch, the province's General Mobilization Official Ahmed al-Durani stated that the project targets all families of martyrs and the missing across Dhamar.
According to Yemen News Agency, al-Durani noted that it will be followed by Eid clothing assistance and sponsorship and livelihood support projects. He described the initiative as the least that can be offered in recognition of the sacrifices made by the martyrs. Al-Durani called on businessmen and charitable individuals to support the families of martyrs, the wounded, and those stationed on the frontlines, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. He also praised merchants contributing food baskets and charitable kitchens in Dhamar city and other districts.
For his part, Director of the Authority's branch in Dhamar, Hashem al-Hamzi, explained that the project targets 7,500 families of martyrs and the missing at a total cost of 168 million Yemeni riyals. In-kind food baskets will be distributed in Dhamar city, while cash assistance will be provided in other districts through an organized mechanism. He added that additional Ramadan initiatives will be launched this year in the province at a total estimated cost of 543 million riyals, in appreciation of the sacrifices of the martyrs and their families.
