Raymah: The Emergency Committee in Raymah governorate, led by governorate undersecretary Mohammed Murad, convened on Monday to discuss strategies for enhancing readiness to address potential damage from heavy rainfall and flooding.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by Shura Council member Ahmed al-Nahari and directors from relevant offices, who reviewed the roles of involved bodies in improving response efforts to emergencies arising from flash floods in the governorate.
Participants highlighted the significance of providing essential resources, equipment, and logistical support to minimize damage to public facilities, infrastructure, and citizens' homes.
The discussions also included measures to tackle possible developments, such as preparing emergency plans and securing shelter needs to respond effectively to natural disasters.
The committee emphasized the necessity for increased coordination among relevant authorities, mobilizing resources, implementing urgent treatments, enhancing rainwater drainage, and executing emergency maintenance for damaged roads to lessen the impact of floods.
