Hajjah: The Appeals Prosecution of Hajjah governorate approved the release of 200 prisoners who have served three-quarters of their sentences and are eligible for bail in cases under investigation, on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday anniversary.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Head of the Appeals Prosecution in the governorate, Judge Abdullah Al-Ahmar, explained that he, along with the governorate's Security Director Brigadier Hassan Al-Qasimi, the Deputy Mobilization Official Mohammed Al-Nu'ami, and prosecutors and members of the prosecution offices, visited the pretrial detention center in the governorate center and detention centers in the districts to review those eligible for release.
He stated that the release procedures come within the framework of the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership and the instructions of the Public Prosecutor to review prisoners' cases, granting pardon for the remaining period to those eligible for release, or granting bail to those detained pending investigation, and expediting the processing of their cases.
Judge Al-Ahmar pointed out that the visits to detention centers began at the start of the month of Safar, in cooperation with security agencies, and will continue in the coming days on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday.
For his part, the governorate's Security Director, Brigadier Al-Qasimi, indicated that the release included 150 prisoners from detention centers in the districts and 50 prisoners from the pretrial detention center in the governorate center who meet the conditions and are eligible for release.
He commended the attention given by the revolutionary and political leadership, the Ministry of Interior leadership, and the Public Prosecutor to prisoners' cases, and the directives to release those eligible for release.
