Sana’a: Researcher Ibrahim Saif Al-Shujaifi received a doctoral degree with distinction in English language from the Faculty of Languages at Sana’a University. His thesis was titled “Evaluating the quality of translation of cultural terms in Abdul Wahab Al-Maqaleh’s translation of Dave Eggers’ The Monk of Mokha and Hermann Hesse’s Rosshalde.”
According to Yemen News Agency, the discussion and judging committee was headed by Dr. Qaid Farea, an external discussant. The committee also included Dr. Mohammed Al-Aqili, an internal discussant, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Berihi, the supervisor of the thesis. They praised the researcher’s efforts and the results of his thesis.
The discussion was attended by a number of faculty members at the College of Languages and the translator of the two novels, Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Maqaleh.
