Sa'ada: The Appeals Court in Sa'ada Governorate upheld death sentences today against seven defendants convicted of espionage for countries involved in the aggression.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ruling was issued by a panel headed by Judge Suleiman Al-Shammari, with Judges Ali Al-Shajni and Amir Al-Din Sari as members. The session, attended by Appeals Prosecutor Ibrahim Jahiz and Prosecutor Abdulmalik Al-Ansi, affirmed the lower court's verdict convicting the defendants and sentencing them to death by firing squad in a public place.
The prosecution charged the defendants with collaborating with countries involved in the aggression and their agents during the previous period, with the intent of harming the political and military standing of the Republic of Yemen, as stated in the indictment.
