Saada Radio Concludes ‘Martyr of Qur’an’ Competition for Children of Martyrs

Saada: Saada Local Radio concluded today the seventh season of the 'Martyr of the Qur'an' competition for children of martyrs, dedicated to Qur'an memorization and recitation. The event took place at Imam Al-Hadi Mosque in the city of Saada. At the closing ceremony, Saada Governor Mohammed Jaber Awad congratulated the winning participants for their efforts in competing, mastering Qur'an recitation and tajweed, and achieving top positions. He encouraged other youth and children to focus on learning, memorizing, and reciting the Holy Qur'an, and to enroll in the summer schools, with registration set to begin on the 7th of Shawwal.

According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Awad also praised the efforts of Saada Local Radio and its staff for organizing the Ramadan Qur'an competition for the seventh consecutive year, noting that the competition is sponsored by the leader Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi. For his part, Director of Saada Radio Abdulrazzaq Al-Razhi stated that the station has been organizing this competition annually for seven years, in line with leadership directives to support the children of martyrs and encourage them to engage with the Qur'an, in recognition of their fathers' sacrifices.

He explained that the competition was held throughout the month of Ramadan, with participants from among the children of martyrs, and that two finalists qualified for the final round and were honored today for securing first and second place. At the conclusion of the ceremony, attended by Deputy Governor for Humanitarian Affairs Mohammed Baydan, the commander of the Military Police branch in the governorate Brigadier Yusuf Al-Hatfi, and several officials and scholars, prizes were awarded to the winners.

The first-place winner, Abdullah Al-Azraq, received a locally made rifle along with an additional in-kind prize, presented by Saada Radio and the local authority. The second-place winner, Zakaria Fares, received a cash prize of 200,000 Yemeni riyals, in addition to an in-kind and encouragement award.
