Taiz: A new multi-purpose agricultural cooperative was officially launched on Thursday in Sami' district of Taiz governorate with local authorities and development partners in attendance. The cooperative, established under the slogan "A Hand to Build, a Hand to Protect," elected Abdullah Mohammed Maqbil as chairman, with other members appointed to key management positions.
According to Yemen News Agency, officials highlighted the cooperative's role in supporting farmers, boosting agricultural production-particularly cash crops such as local almonds-and promoting food security. The project will also facilitate access to farming services and inputs at lower costs through organized production groups and value chain methodologies.
Authorities emphasized the cooperative's potential as a community hub for development initiatives, job creation, and the expansion of strategic crop production.
