Sana’a: The Board of Directors of the Sana’a Governorate Cleanliness and Improvement Fund convened to evaluate the Fund’s progress and strategic needs under the leadership of Governor Abdulbasit Al-Hadi.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included key figures such as the Fund’s Executive Director, Engineer Sami Al-Turabi, and members of the Board of Directors. They reviewed the progress made since the joint meeting of the Administrative Body and the Fund’s Board of Directors on 17 Jumada Al-Akhira, focusing on implementing projects to enhance the Fund’s operations.
The attendees approved the final accounts for the fiscal year 2025, incorporating feedback from the Governorate’s Finance Office for future reports. Additionally, they sanctioned a comprehensive needs plan for the fiscal year 1446 AH – 2025 AD, totaling 5.8 billion riyals, which includes a tree planting initiative at key locations, funded by the Fund’s resources for 2025 AD at a cost of 23 million 921 thousand riyals.
A proposal to establish a waste recycling and sorting plant was also greenlit, with a site designated for its development. Furthermore, the meeting approved the acquisition and installation of an electronic scale at the temporary landfill to accurately weigh and monitor cleaning equipment loads.
The Board recommended engaging with directors of the directorates and neighborhood affairs departments to ensure that residential and commercial property owners maintain adjacent sidewalks, contributing to the overall aesthetics of the city.
Governor Al-Hadi highlighted the necessity of enhancing both administrative and field operations of the Fund. He stressed the importance of implementing public awareness programs to foster collaboration between sanitation workers and the community.
The local authority remains committed to overcoming challenges faced by the Fund to advance sanitation and environmental efforts, as well as to improving administrative functions and monitoring field performance. Governor Al-Hadi urged for increased efforts to boost sanitation services and achieve significant improvements in waste management and urban enhancement.
