Sana'a: The Great Prophet football tournament commenced on Sunday in the Bani Bahloul, Sanhan, and Bani Bahloul districts of Sana'a governorate. The event was organized by the Youth and Sports Office and the Youth Unit of the General Mobilization, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the local authority, under the slogan "At Your Service, O Messenger of Allah."
According to Yemen News Agency, Director of the governorate's Youth and Sports Office, Abdulmohsen Al-Sharif, emphasized that the celebration of the Prophet's Birthday is an occasion that unites Muslims worldwide. He highlighted that the Yemeni people are notable for the extensive preparations and activities that mark this occasion. Al-Sharif pointed out that sports tournaments at the district level are part of the celebrations, providing an opportunity to emulate the Noble Prophet.
The opening match in Bani Bahloul district saw Shahda'a Bani Watara School triumph over Al-Zubairi School in Al-Hamami with a 6-3 victory. The launch event was attended by several officials, including Deputy General Mobilization Official in Bani Bahloul Mohammed Hameed, Education Sector Official Ali Al-Qudaimi, Youth and Sports Director Abdul Ghani Al-Kahali, and Social Mobilization Official Hussein Al-Ashwal, as well as social figures, participating school principals, and heads of sports teams.
In the Al-Tiyal district, the tournament also began on Sunday. The opening match, witnessed by District Youth and Sports Office Director Abdul Aziz Al-Shami, featured the Great Prophet team defeating the Imam Hussein team with a score of 8-4.
