Sana'a:The National Human Rights Commission's Sana'a branch has condemned the Saudi air force's direct targeting of Bayt Al-Laheeda in Sawwan, Bani Hashish District, which resulted in the death of a female student and injuries to three other individuals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the commission's statement also addressed a previous incident involving the targeting of a sponge factory in Shamlan, Hamdan District, which injured several workers. Both attacks were described as deliberate war crimes against civilians, children, education, and workers.
The statement further criticized the targeting of civilian, educational, and other non-military facilities, noting it as a clear violation of Article 52 of Additional Protocol I, which is designed to protect civilians. The commission held Saudi forces fully responsible for these actions and urged human rights and humanitarian organizations to condemn such acts. It also called on the UN Security Council to uphold its legal and moral responsibility to safeguard civilians and civilian infrastructures.
