Sana'a: The local council and executive office in Sana'a Governorate organized a mass rally on Saturday in support of the Holy Quran and Al-Aqsa Mosque, backing the Palestinian people and prisoners held in Israeli jails, expressing solidarity with Lebanon and its resistance fighters, and affirming readiness to confront any developments or escalation.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants in the rally, including deputy governors, members of the local council, directors of executive offices, and employees, raised copies of the Holy Quran and chanted slogans condemning and denouncing the repeated offenses by the Americans and Zionists against Islamic sanctities, foremost among them the Holy Quran.
They stressed that the act committed by the American 'Jake Lang,' who burned a copy of the Holy Quran in the U.S. state of Michigan, reflects hostility toward Islam, Muslims, and their sacred symbols. They described the act as an assault on Islamic sanctities, a provocation of Muslims' feelings worldwide, and incitement to hatred and violence.
A statement issued during the rally and delivered by First Deputy Governor Hamid Asim condemned the repeated offenses by Americans and Zionists against the Holy Quran, as well as the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionist extremists.
The statement affirmed that the insults against the Holy Quran by Western countries reveal their fear of the great book that exposes their reality and schemes targeting Islam and Muslims. It pointed out that the Holy Quran represents the divine path capable of building a strong and civilized nation able to confront tyrants, oppressors, and defeat their projects.
The statement called on Arab and Islamic nations to launch campaigns boycotting American and Israeli products and to organize mass marches across the Arab and Islamic world to condemn the offenses against the Holy Quran and the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque, while supporting Gaza and Palestine.
It renewed support for Gaza and efforts aimed at liberating Palestinian land from Israeli occupation, praising the positions taken by Hezbollah against Israel. The statement also affirmed Iran's right to respond to attacks by the United States and Israel.
It called on executive offices and local authorities in the governorate's districts to organize demonstrations and rallies in support of the Holy Quran and to reaffirm the position in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian people, as well as readiness toward any developments or escalation by the United States and Israel against the Islamic nation.
