Sanaa: In the first Ramadan lecture for the year 1447 AH, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi addressed the Yemeni people, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the holy month and urging the Muslim Ummah to seize the divine opportunities it presents. He highlighted the unique virtues of Ramadan as a time for spiritual elevation and moral refinement. According to Yemen News Agency, Sayyed Abdulmalik opened his lecture by extending congratulations on the arrival of Ramadan, a month characterized by mercy and forgiveness. He stressed the importance of engaging with the Quran, spiritual remembrance, and acts of worship during this month, despite modern distractions such as media and technology that can divert attention from these priorities. Sayyed Abdulmalik praised the Yemeni people's devotion to Ramadan, noting their commitment to mosque worship and the Quran. He described this as a manifestation of the divine principle of cooperation in righteousness and piety, in contrast to the efforts of adversar ies aiming to weaken faith and righteousness within the Muslim community. The lecture highlighted the disparity in how people engage with Ramadan across the Islamic world. Sayyed Abdulmalik lamented the weak appreciation of the divine opportunities presented during Ramadan, as many are distracted by trivial pursuits instead of embracing the spiritual and moral elevation offered by the month. He urged self-reflection and warned against missing out on the blessings of Ramadan, emphasizing the need for the Ummah to return to Allah amidst the challenges it faces. He referred to Quranic verses that link piety with blessings and divine assistance, stressing the need for the Ummah to reform its relationship with Allah's commands and prohibitions. Sayyed Abdulmalik concluded by underscoring the importance of acts of kindness, remembrance of Allah, and spiritual elevation during Ramadan. He encouraged preparation for the night of Qadr and promised to continue delivering Ramadan lectures that draw lessons from Quran ic narratives. The lecture called for a collective effort to seize the opportunities of Ramadan, urging the Ummah to focus on spiritual growth and adherence to divine guidance.
