Sanaa: The eleventh Ramadan lecture by Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi focused on the theme of benevolence, drawing insights from the story of Prophet Musa (PBUH) as narrated in Surah Al-Qasas.
According to Yemen News Agency, the lecture emphasized the significance of benevolence, a quality exemplified by Prophet Musa, and highlighted its importance as a noble moral value that aligns with the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Sayyed Abdulmalik elaborated on how benevolence, rooted in sincere devotion to Allah, encompasses noble motives devoid of any exploitative aims. He explained that it originates from inner purity and the innate human nature instilled by Allah, which includes empathy and concern for the oppressed. Benevolence, he noted, occupies a high rank in the scale of faith and serves as a means of drawing closer to Allah.
The lecture underscored the comprehensive nature of benevolence, which requires wisdom and knowledge to address individual and collective concerns. Sayyed Abdulmalik highlighted how Prophet Musa's benevolence extended from personal acts to a divine mission, embodying benevolence at its highest level and producing decisive outcomes.
Sayyed Abdulmalik also discussed the challenges faced by Prophet Musa due to his benevolent actions towards the oppressed, which led to tension with the ruling Pharaohs. He detailed an incident from the Quran where Prophet Musa intervened in a conflict between an oppressed man and an oppressor, resulting in the death of the latter. This incident, he explained, marked a turning point in Musa's life and struggle against tyranny.
The lecture concluded by drawing parallels to the current plight of the Palestinian people, urging the Muslim Ummah to respond to their cries for help and confront injustice. Sayyed Abdulmalik emphasized the need for the Ummah to uphold the spirit of benevolence and faith, warning against the consequences of inaction.
In closing, Sayyed Abdulmalik prayed for success in seeking Allah's pleasure, mercy for martyrs, healing for the wounded, and freedom for captives. He called for the Ummah's victory and concluded with a prayer for peace and blessings.
