Al-hudaydah: The Acting Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Miftah, during his visit to a number of areas in Al-Hudaydah province, accompanied by the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, met today with the Governor of Al-Hudaydah, Abdullah Atifi, and the First Deputy Governor of the province, Ahmed Al-Bishri.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, they reviewed the province's situation and the work accomplished by the local authority within the framework of the province's plan for the year 1447 AH. They discussed urgent priorities for the province, and the immediate needs for service projects, economic empowerment projects, and community participation, emphasizing the importance of government support.
The Acting Prime Minister commended the efforts made by the local authority and the executive office in implementing this year's plan. He highlighted the attention and care the province receives from the leadership, affirming that the Government of Change and Construction will diligently assume its responsibilities towards the province and the needs of its people according to available capabilities.
Additionally, Scholar Miftah inspected the vital Al-Hudaydah Port - Bajil road, and assessed the condition of several roads in the city of Bajil and others requiring maintenance and rehabilitation. He emphasized the importance of roads connecting to Al-Hudaydah Port and the necessity for the local authority and the Road Maintenance Fund to participate in carrying out necessary maintenance and rehabilitating the roads promptly.
Scholar Miftah, accompanied by the Minister of Transport and Public Works Qahim, the Deputy Minister for Roads Sector, Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, and the head of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, inspected the maintenance work on the Sana'a - Al-Hudaydah road. This project is currently being implemented by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges at a total cost of over 400 million Yemeni riyals.
They reviewed the ongoing work, which includes protection works, widening and shoulder backfilling, structural works, retaining walls, and the construction of water drains and culverts. These efforts aim to protect the vital artery connecting the capital Sana'a to Al-Hudaydah province and its essential facilities.
The visitors assessed the progress of work on cleaning the entrances and exits of bridges and clearing valleys of trees and debris, which had been previously ordered to be cleaned due to their impact on blocking or reducing the flow of rainwater and floods.
Scholar Miftah praised the efforts of the Ministry of Transport, represented by the relevant authorities, in conducting maintenance and protection works for both the Sana'a - Al-Hudaydah road and other vital roads. He urged everyone to double their efforts and strictly adhere to quality standards in the implementation of various construction works.
Furthermore, Scholar Miftah inspected the performance of traffic points on the Sana'a - Al-Hudaydah road and their role in serving the beneficiaries of this vital artery, including drivers of both small cars and large carriers. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the traffic police personnel stationed at these points for their significant role in serving citizens and ensuring their well-being.
