Sana’a: The University of Science and Technology in Sana’a initiated the annual martyr anniversary 1446 AH on Monday with a speech event and a photo exhibition under the theme “The martyrs’ sacrifices have yielded glory, victory and strength”.
According to Yemen News Agency, cultural activist and member of the Board of Trustees, Abdul Salam Al-Mutamiz, emphasized the significance of marking the annual martyr anniversary as an opportunity for awareness and mobilization. He highlighted the importance of remembering the lessons and heroic stances of the martyrs who defended the nation’s security and independence.
In his address, the Secretary General of the University, Dr. Faisal Hazza’a, discussed the profound meanings associated with martyrdom in the path of Allah. He described it as a high status, a great position, a great honor, and a great victory. Dr. Hazza’a underscored the importance of commemorating this anniversary to honor the martyrs’ exploits, care for their families, and acknowledge their sacrifi
ces in defending the nation’s pride and dignity against invaders.
Dr. Hazza’a further noted that the culture of martyrdom has bolstered Yemeni resilience against external aggression. He remarked that the martyr’s anniversary serves as a sacred remembrance of the martyrs’ ultimate gifts and sacrifices, which represent the finest contributions to the present and future of the nation. This commemoration aims to instill the principle of martyrdom in future generations, promoting values of pride, victory, freedom, and dignity.
