Sana'a:A scientific symposium on 'Cardiovascular Diseases' was held by the Faculty of Medicine at 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences. The event took place on Thursday and was attended by academics, physicians, and researchers from several Yemeni universities.
According to Yemen News Agency, the symposium focused on the latest developments in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular diseases, such as acute coronary syndrome, heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, atrial fibrillation, and advanced ECG findings.
Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research for Basic Education Hadi Ammar emphasized the significance of such specialized scientific events in enhancing the knowledge and professional skills of medical personnel. These events are crucial for keeping medical professionals updated with the latest diagnostic and treatment methods.
University President Dr. Mujahid Maasar highlighted that cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of death worldwide. He stressed the importance of the symposium in improving healthcare, reducing complications, and raising public awareness of preventive measures.
The symposium included four scientific papers. Dr. Najat Al-Khawlani discussed acute coronary syndrome, Dr. Saeed Al-Ghamri examined subtle ECG changes during ischemia, and Dr. Manal Al-Qasimi presented two papers on treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and managing atrial fibrillation, with a focus on stroke prevention and rhythm control.
The event also featured scientific discussions on the latest diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, fostering the exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
