Sana'a: Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shiban and Sana'a University Rector Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti inaugurated the second free charitable medical camp for children at Kuwait University Hospital on Saturday. This five-day camp is dedicated to offering complimentary medical, therapeutic, and diagnostic services to children in various specialties including endocrinology, respiratory diseases, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, hematology, and neonatology.
According to Yemen News Agency, the camp features participation from leading pediatric consultants from the hospital, with free medicines provided to patients. Dr. Abdul Latif Abu Talib, the Director of Kuwait University Hospital, briefed Dr. Shiban and Dr. Al-Bukhaiti on the camp's services, procedures for receiving cases, and the medical examinations and tests conducted.
Minister Shiban commended the hospital's administration and medical staff for their efforts in delivering free healthcare services to children, emphasizing the importance of such camps in alleviating the treatment burden on families and promoting community care. He advocated for the continuation and expansion of free medical programs and announced future initiatives including medical camps for patients with hypertension and diabetes, appreciating the support from pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Al-Bukhaiti underscored the significance of the camp in light of recent victories achieved by the armed forces, acknowledging the contributions of all involved in its organization. He highlighted the commitment of Sana'a University and the hospital staff to provide specialized healthcare despite challenges, calling for enhanced efforts to expand these services.
Dr. Abdul Latif Abu Talib noted the success of the first pediatric medical camp, which benefited 1,200 patients, and the continuation of the hospital's humanitarian efforts. He expressed gratitude toward pharmaceutical companies for their support in providing necessary medical supplies.
Furthermore, Dr. Shiban, Dr. Al-Bukhaiti, and Dr. Abu Talib inaugurated the newly rehabilitated dental department equipped with the latest medical technology, alongside a specialized ward with a 42-bed capacity. They reviewed ongoing and completed projects in the dermatology department, commending the hospital's achievements in enhancing healthcare services for citizens.
The officials called for continued efforts to improve services, ensuring direct benefits for citizens amidst the challenging circumstances in the country.
