Shabwah: The local authority and Executive Office of Shabwah Governorate held an expanded meeting on Saturday, chaired by Governor Awad al-Awlaki, as part of general preparations to confront Saudi escalation and to launch activities marking the Prophet Mohammed's Birthday (Mawlid) for 1448 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by Al-Mahrah Governor al-Qatabi al-Faraji, along with a number of sheikhs, dignitaries, and social figures, discussed the latest national developments, which the governor said reveal the scale of Saudi conspiracies and its attempts to target Yemen, ignite fronts in service of Israeli and American agendas. Preparations for commemorating the Prophet Mohammed's Birthday were also discussed.
Governor al-Awlaki stressed that the position of the local authority, the Executive Office, and the free people of Shabwah is based on supporting the revolutionary, political, and military leadership and backing the armed forces in enforcing the equation of 'blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation.' He affirmed that the Yemeni people are engaged in a decisive, just battle against the ambitions and practices of the Saudi enemy.
He said Saudi Arabia has committed the most severe forms of injustice against the Yemeni people in both the north and south since 1934, calling on residents of the governorate not to join enemy mobilization efforts or fall victim to conspiracies targeting Yemen and its people.
He noted that some deceived individuals have followed Saudi Arabia's plans as a result of difficult living conditions imposed by the occupier in the southern governorates.
Al-Awlaki affirmed that the Yemeni people understand the scale of the conspiracy, are determined to confront Saudi plans and complete the liberation of every inch of the homeland. He called on everyone to fulfill their national duty and communicate with residents of the southern governorates under occupation to clarify the reality of the conspiracies so that they do not become victims of them.
The Shabwah governor described Yemeni unity as the most important achievement attained by the Yemeni people, noting that the 'glorious September 21 Revolution' is moving steadily toward freeing Yemen from foreign tutelage and dependence. He urged residents of the governorate to intensify preparations for commemorating the Prophet Mohammed's Birthday in a manner befitting the significance of the occasion.
For his part, Al-Mahrah Governor al-Qatabi al-Faraji pointed to Saudi Arabia's plans to drag the people of Shabwah and the southern governorates under occupation into confrontation with their fellow Yemenis defending the country's sovereignty, calling on everyone to remain vigilant and thwart the enemy's plans.
He noted that Saudi Arabia is mobilizing in the south through alliances with countries including Trkiye and Pakistan, in an attempt to subjugate Yemen-an objective he said it has failed to achieve during more than 11 years of aggression.
The meeting also featured contributions from deputy governors, directors of executive offices, sheikhs, and dignitaries. They focused on strengthening the internal front and preparing to confront any Saudi escalation, affirming their support for the Yemeni armed forces' 'qualitative military operations' in defense of the country's sovereignty, security, and stability. They also conveyed messages of peace and solidarity to the people of the southern governorates under occupation, calling on them to rally behind the revolutionary, political, and military leadership.
