Sana'a: Sheikh Ali Adhabi, Vice President of Dar Al-Uloom Al-Shar'iya University in Hodeidah and a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, considered the medal bestowed upon the people of Yemen by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), the Medal of Faith and Wisdom, to be a responsibility before it is an honor.
According to Yemen News Agency, in his address at the annual conference of Yemeni scholars held today in Sana'a, Sheikh Adhabi emphasized that the responsibility for upholding the cause of faith in Allah Almighty and His Messenger rests primarily on the shoulders of scholars. He stated, "Today, we will draw attention to two acts of worship that many of us are unaware of. The first is found in the words of Allah Almighty: 'So whoever transgresses against you, then transgress against him in the same way that he transgressed against you. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.' Allah Almighty has promised us to respond to aggression and has commanded us to do so. Retaliation is obligatory against the aggressor, whoever he may be." Sheikh Adhabi pointed out that this response eradicates injustice, oppression, and tyranny. He cited two pieces of evidence for the obligation of retaliation: firstly, the verse concludes with, "So whoever transgresses against you, then transgress against him." Fear Allah! If we fail to respond, we are sinning, as evidenced by Allah Almighty's statement at the end of the verse, "Indeed, Allah is with the righteous." Therefore, we must respond to any aggressor, and the aggression continues.
He also mentioned that another, even clearer, piece of evidence is in Allah Almighty's words: "And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make peace between them. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the command of Allah." Fighting the oppressive faction is obligatory, a principle well-known among scholars.
Sheikh Adhabi added: "Today, the Yemeni people are under constant aggression and oppression by the Saudi-American coalition. They have been bombarded for 12 years with cluster bombs and other weapons." "It is a deadly war, subjecting people to killing, displacement, starvation, and an unjust siege. This has affected everyone, even children, women, the sick in hospitals, and those suffering from cancer and kidney failure. It inflicts immense harm on all, and it is far more damaging than fighting itself." He continued, "We have seen countries collapse due to sieges. They were unable to topple regimes through wars, so they resorted to sieges, as happened in Iraq and Syria, and the sieges achieved results in their occupation."
He pointed out that the nation is currently commemorating the Prophet's birthday, and Allah has commanded us to venerate His noble Messenger and to worship Him through this occasion, considering it an act of worship, as Allah Almighty said: "Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner, so that you may believe in Allah and His Messenger and honor him and respect him and exalt Him morning and afternoon." These are multiple acts of worship, and veneration and respect are among the greatest acts of worship.
He stressed that if the nation turns away from glorifying the Messenger of Allah, deeds will be rendered worthless, as Allah said, 'Your deeds will be rendered worthless while you do not perceive it.' He pointed out that the gathering is an expression of love and glorification for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace, and that the worship of glorification is what Allah has commanded us to do for the sake of the Messenger of Allah.
