Hodeida: The Shura Council strongly condemned on Wednesday the Israeli aggression that targeted civilian and service facilities in Hodeida Port with 12 airstrikes. In a statement, the Council described the aggression on the port's pier as a blatant violation of international law and an assault on civilian life aimed at undermining Yemen's resources and tightening the economic blockade in a futile attempt to deter Yemen from its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council further noted that the crime comes as part of a series of grave violations by the Zionist entity, most recently the bombing of the headquarters of 26 September and Yemen newspapers, which left dozens dead and hundreds injured, including 32 journalists and media professionals, along with residents in the densely populated Al-Tahrir neighborhood of Sana'a.
The Shura Council denounced the international silence over the targeting of civilian sites and media institutions, which amounts to war crimes intended to silence voices and cover up atrocities committed against the Palestinian people. The Council also criticized the stance of most Arab and Islamic states, including the recent Doha Summit, whose outcomes failed to rise to the level of the Zionist threat.
The statement reaffirmed Yemen's firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people and its legitimate right to respond appropriately to aggression, praising the swift response of the Yemeni Armed Forces in launching a qualitative operation targeting Lod Airport in the occupied territories, which forced millions of settlers into shelters.
The Shura Council called on the Association of Senates, Shura, and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab world to condemn the aggression against Yemeni journalists and civilians, and to exert pressure in international forums to save the Palestinian people and curb the Zionist entity's violations in the region.
