Sana'a: The Presidium of the Shura Council, led by Council Speaker Mohammed Hussein Al-Eidrous, convened its regular meeting to examine reports on its agenda and deliberate over the latest national developments. The meeting commenced with the Presidium welcoming the Yemeni Armed Forces' operation against a Saudi vessel, highlighting its violation of the blockade measures and warnings issued by the Republic of Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, the operation was conducted to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial waters and to demonstrate the armed forces' readiness to deter any attempts to bypass Yemen's blockade measures. The meeting proceeded with a review of the executive matrix for the directives of Revolution Leader Abdul-Malik Badreddin Al-Houthi for the year 1447 AH, emphasizing the need to convert those directives into practical institutional programs that enhance the Council's performance and address current challenges.
The Presidium also focused on preparations for the upcoming commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday (Mawlid), approving the Council's program for the event. The members underscored the importance of effective coordination and organization to reflect the significance of the Prophet to the Yemeni populace and their commitment to his values and teachings. They noted the special place this occasion holds among Yemenis, who annually express their devotion and loyalty to the Prophet, and acknowledged the growing celebrations of the Mawlid across the Islamic world as a means to reinforce Islamic identity and unity.
The Presidium urged Council members to participate actively in all preparatory activities and central events at both district and governorate levels and to engage directly with citizens in support of the main celebration. Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the annual report on the activities of the Council's standing committees for 1447 AH and discussed the draft activity plan for 1448 AH, which aims to enhance committee performance and strengthen their advisory role.
The Presidium called on the standing committees to intensify their efforts to improve performance and fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with approved plans, current circumstances, and leadership directives. The meeting concluded with a review and approval of the minutes from the previous session, an assessment of the implementation of its decisions, and the endorsement of the agenda for the current meeting.
