Sana'a: The distribution of Sidr seedlings commenced on Monday in the al-Husn district of Sana'a governorate, marking the beginning of a significant project to plant 100,000 seedlings throughout the region. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to expand the cultivation of Sidr trees, known for their economic benefits.
According to Yemen News Agency, district director Khalil Abu Alama emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting the economic advantages that Sidr trees bring, such as serving as bee pastures and aiding in soil protection. He called for community participation to maximize these benefits.
Abdul Razzaq al-Makhrafi from the Eastern Sector Agricultural Cooperative Association mentioned that a total of 2,000 seedlings are being distributed to farmers within the al-Husn district. Furthermore, an additional 10,000 seedlings have been allocated for planting across the five districts of the sector, focusing on areas like valleys and waterways to enhance environmental sustainability.
The launch of this initiative saw the attendance of local officials and farmers, underscoring the community's commitment to the project's success.
