Sanaa: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Samir Baja'alah paid a visit to the 'Khatwa/step' Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs and Autism in the Capital Secretariat.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister Baja'alah was briefed by the center's director, Safa al-Mahabshi, on the specialized rehabilitation and training programs provided for each child with special needs, particularly those diagnosed with autism.
The minister toured the center's departments, including speech therapy clinics, attention and focus training, communication and verbal skills development, sensory integration, occupational therapy, and auditory, technical, visual, vocal, and cognitive training, in addition to the open training space.
Minister Baja'alah praised the efforts of the staff and described the center's work as a humanitarian service that deserves recognition and support, similar to other care centers.
He affirmed the ministry's and the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund's commitment to supporting people with special needs and backing all initiatives aimed at empowering them and improving their quality of life.
