Seoul: Statistics Korea released data on Tuesday showing that consumer prices in Korea grew by less than 2% in August.

According to Yemen News Agency, consumer prices, a key measure of inflation, rose 1.7% in August compared to the previous year.

Inflation remained above the Bank of Korea's 2% target for four consecutive months until April, before slowing to 1.9% in May and then rising again, remaining above 2% in both June and July. This represents the slowest growth since November 2024, when prices rose 1.5% year-on-year.
