Sana'a:A statement from the Southern Movement faction, a participant in the National Dialogue Conference and signatory to the Peace and Partnership Agreement, has condemned what it describes as grave fabrications and slander by the Saudi regime against Yemen and its people, particularly regarding the targeting of holy sites.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Southern Movement asserts that the House of Saud regime is spreading lies and engaging in aggression and blockade due to its deep crisis and inability to counter Yemen's strategic victories. These victories include the "blockade-for-blockade" and "escalation-for-escalation" strategies of the Yemeni Armed Forces, as well as operations within Saudi territory.
The statement claims that the Saudi regime is resorting to politicizing and exploiting the holy sites of Mecca and Medina, which it argues is a desperate attempt to incite and provoke the peoples of the nation. The Southern Movement contends that Yemen's historical stance is a testament to its victories and defense of Islam.
The faction calls on the peoples of the nation to oppose the Saudi regime's actions, which it describes as involving the misuse of sanctities in political conflicts, fabricating narratives, and committing war crimes against Yemen. These actions, according to the statement, serve the agendas of American and Zionist interests.
