Sana'a: Ali Hadban, Deputy Minister of Youth for the Sports Sector, inaugurated on Sunday the fifth Open Olympic Shooting Championship for pistol and rifle (air pressure) in the male categories (seniors, juniors, and youth).
According to Yemen News Agency, the three-day championship is organized by the General Federation for the Sport under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and funded by the Youth and Children Sponsorship Fund. Around 60 athletes are participating, representing various centers, universities, and public and private schools. Shooters from the national shooting team are also taking part.
The championship competitions began this afternoon with a training program for all participants in the three categories, led by national coach Captain Amin Al-Khalqi, assisted by coach Yasslam Faisal. The program aims to familiarize participants with the rules and how to manage competitions, which require high precision in monitoring and decision-making.
