Standards Authority Issues Warning Against Maragatty Chicken Stock

Sana’a: The Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority has issued a warning to consumers and traders not to buy or sell the Maragatty chicken stock product of Egyptian origin. The authority explained in a statement that this product contains prohibited artificial colors that are forbidden to be used in food products due to the negative effects they may cause on consumer health.

According to Yemen News Agency, the authority is alerting consumers, wholesalers, and retailers to avoid purchasing or selling the product. It has urged citizens to avoid consuming Maragatty chicken stock and to report its presence in the market via the Authority’s toll-free number 8001222.

The Authority indicated that it is actively pursuing necessary procedures to ensure that markets are free of the product to preserve consumer health. It emphasized that necessary measures will be taken against violators to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
